Marbles on Stream - Tipps & Tricks

Some small disturbing factors can affect the gaming experience with “Marbles on Stream” or other settings can make the marbles more pleasant. However, there are some tips & tricks that I would like to show here. You are also welcome to send me your tips & tricks to the e-mail address shown below, which I will then include here.

BetterTTV

This is a browser extension for Chrome (“BTTV”). With this extension, these additional functions can be realized in Twitch chat:

  • many more emotes can be displayed
  • channel points and drops can be picked up automatically
  • repeat chat input
  • many more options in the settings

Browser

Which browser is the “best” for enjoying the streams? In my experience, it’s Google’s Chrome browser on a PC; I can’t say for sure what it looks like on Apple. It “eats” less computer resources during the live experience than Firefox – especially if you have multiple windows or tabs of the browser open. “Opera GX” is also supposed to be good, but I only tested it briefly.

Countdown / Timer

Before the start, Marbles on Stream runs a counter or also called timer. This starts at “10” or another value set by the streamer and of course ends at “0”. But you can only put your marble on the track up to a maximum of “6”. From then on no start on the track is possible.
In addition, the countdown will be delayed by a possible delay in the transmission. See the tip below for more information.

Dark Screen

You can activate Twitch in the “Dark Mode”. Then the background is no longer light, but dark. Many “emotes” in the chat look better in “Dark Mode” and many things are optimized for it.

Energie-Reset

After you have set the energy to “zero” (0/9), you can get the energy back again since Season 44. How to do that is described on this page.

Reset marble in the app

If you have selected a marble in the app, you can reset it to the default by clicking on it again (or the modifiers, spawn effects and trails). However, this function should rarely be used, but it works.

Marbles for all, or subscribers

Some streamers offer you to play with other/their marbles. These are displayed before the start of the game round. There are marbles for “Everyone” (shown on the left) and marbles for “Subscribers” (shown on the right). These don’t cost you anything and are only displayed in the respective run – but you can always select them.
To use the “foreign” marble just write “!play” and directly after that the number of the streamer’s marble, e.g. “!play9” – and you have another marble on the track. Otherwise, a marble is randomly assigned from this selection.

Change Twitch name

Beware, there’s a stumbling block waiting for you here. Changing your name on Twitch will cause you to lose all of your previous earnings (points, Gemrons, in-app purchases, etc.).
If you plan to do this, only do it in the “off-season” of Marbles and write PixelbyPixel Studios via their Discord that you want to move your data to the new name. You will need the old name and the new name. Good luck.

Delay / Lag

Especially when opening a stream, delays can occur during transmission. This is also called “lag” . You can try to work around this in several ways:

  • Reload the page in the browser (F5 or also Ctrl+R)
  • Pressing the “Pause” and “Play” button in the stream

It can also not hurt to start this “Pause + Play” action every now and then, so that no new delay can build up during the session.

Vote

You can “vote” at Marbles in two places:

  • Vote for railroads
Here you can vote for a lane – positive or negative. Just write “!vote yes” or “!vote no” in the chat, or use the green “YEA” or the red “NAY” emote.
The streamers can use the voting quota for their selection of which lanes to ride.
  • Voting to select lanes
Some streamers provide the viewers with the possibility to select the lanes for a GrandPrix. For this the viewers can vote for ONE lane with “!vote [xx]”. Instead of “[xx]” enter the number of the lane.
Each viewer has only one vote. But most streamers often take over the further number manually.

Here I am still missing info

Of course there are still gaps on this page – here you can send me your topic.
