Marbles Header Missions

A wallet is required for the use of crypto inventories. These inventories can be crypto money, NFTs or similar virtual things, such as “PbP Tokens”.

Phantom LogoI use the “Phantom” app to describe the wallet. This is available for the most common browsers and mobile devices and is widely used in the Marbles world. That’s why it has the most widespread support in the community.

How do you create your wallet?

Install the “Phantom” browser extension, as you will need this to connect the wallet to the Pixel website (to follow later on this tour).
Follow the instructions in the app to set up the wallet. Save the phrase and your password (I generally recommend using a password manager such as “KeePass”).

Also use these access data to set up this wallet on your cell phone if required. However, this is not required to play the missions.
Check here whether the Solana code described below is the same in both cases – otherwise you will have two different and therefore separate wallets.

How do you get started with your wallet?

If you only want to hold your NFTs in the wallet, you don’t need to do anything else, as this can be done directly after creating the wallet. Only if you want to do more will you need the last two points.

What is Solana?

Solana LogoThis is a platform (or network) for a cryptocurrency that Pixel by Pixel Studios has chosen for its activities, which is also frequently used and widespread elsewhere – especially in the USA.

“Solana is a public blockchain project. It is open-source and decentralized, with consensus achieved through Proof of Stake and Proof of History. Its internal cryptocurrency has the acronym SOL. The platform is also compared to projects such as Ethereum.” Source: Wikipedia

Important: A fee is due for every activity (transaction) in the network. Therefore, make sure that you always have enough SOL in your wallet – if necessary, exchange PbP tokens for SOL in good time (before your activities).

What are PbP Token?

These tokens are a special “currency” in the Marbles world. You can win these tokens at events or get them as a reward from missions. You can then use these tokens to purchase (more) NFTs or exchange them for the Solana currency (SOL).

How can I exchange PbP tokens for Solana?

PbP Token in Solana tauschenThis is relatively easy to do directly in the wallet itself:
Select the “Exchange” function in the wallet and enter the desired amount. In the example here, a fee of 0.00214 SOL is currently due for exchanging 1500 PbP tokens for 0.08882 SOL (click image to enlarge).

The exchange rate is always subject to certain fluctuations – this is normal.

Note: It does not seem to make any difference to the fees how many tokens you want to exchange. It is therefore “cheaper” if you exchange a larger amount of tokens. If necessary, check this before your exchange using the “Check order” function.

Where can I get my first Solana credit?

There are two options here:

  • Purchase
Buy with “real” money – however, I do not know this option, will not use it and do not recommend it
  • Swap with another user
One thing that has become established among the grumblers is that a user with SOL credit sends another user the SOL equivalent of 500 PbP tokens for their first exchange. Simply ask mission participants that you may already know better.

Solana fee

A small fee is charged for each action in the wallet. This is displayed before the action is carried out. If you have no Solana credit, no action is possible.

Therefore, you should ALWAYS make sure that you still have enough SOL credit left for another PbP token in SOL exchange!

The fee is also subject to fluctuations.

How can someone send something to my wallet?

To receive inventory from other users, you need your “Solana public key” or “Solana code”. This is sometimes called differently, but it means the same thing.
The next section explains where you can find the key/code so that you can send the “PbP tokens” or “NFTs”.

Where can I find the Solana code?

Solana Public-KeyIn the app, you can click the icon at the top right and the options shown in the image (click to enlarge) will appear. Use the icon to the right of Solana to copy your Solana code to the clipboard for further use. You can make this code (long string of characters) available to someone who wants to send you something. This code can only be used to send you something, but not to take anything from your inventory.

You can use the QR code scanner to scan someone else’s address.
