This type of game was created so that you don’t “just roll along”. It is designed to make the game more exciting, as you have to complete certain tasks. In return, there are interesting rewards to be won, such as “Community Coins” or “Tournament Coins” to change your marble or “PbP Tokens“.
All this is described on this tour of the missions here.
What are missions?
The missions are, for example, “Racing for Points”. You have to achieve a certain number of points in races in order to complete this mission. I separate the description here into “missions” for the whole topic and use “tasks” for the individual levels. Don’t let this confuse you.
New since Season 59 is that there is no longer a “reset” and the missions run through to level 20. You can either complete this level with a “100k Mission NFT” or you have to reset the mission yourself for 500 PbP tokens or buy them for free.
And the missions are only available during the seasons. No missions are played in the off-season. After Season 59, the previous “off-season” will no longer exist. However, more details are not yet known.
In order to start a mission, you need a wallet with at least one NFT. Both are explained in more detail on the following pages of this tour.
You start each mission by assigning a suitable NFT. The NFT is then given a “cooldown” time as specified in the mission. The NFT is blocked for further missions for this time. The level of the NFT also increases with each mission.
The missions are divided into “levels” – from level 1 to level 30. The goal to be achieved in the mission increases every 5 levels. The cooldown time is 1 day from Season 54 (NFT lockout time), for every 5th mission (5th / 10th / 15th & 20th) the cooldown is 7 days!
When the reset time is reached, the missions end and it starts all over again. This means that you only have a maximum of 24 hours to complete level 20.
What is a wallet?
Wiki quote: A digital wallet, also known as an e-wallet or mobile wallet, is an electronic device, online service, or software program that allows one party to make electronic transactions with another party bartering digital currency units for goods and services.
It is an electronic wallet in which you can store various credits. In the case of “Marbles on Stream”, these are:
- PbP Token
- SOL (Solana network currency)
- NFTs
You can exchange “PbP tokens” for “SOL” in the Solana network. However, a fee is payable for each transaction in the Solana network. How to get started is explained in more detail on the tour. Small spoiler: It works completely without the use of “real money”.
What are NFTs?
NFTs are unique and indivisible graphics in the crypto world. To be able to store and use them, you need a wallet as described above. You’ll find out where you can get them and how you can create them yourself at some point on the tour.
In the Marbles on Stream universe, these are your little helpers for completing missions. The “Morbies” are played with the most. These are small creatures from the planet “New Morbular”. That’s how Pixel by Pixel Studios puts it.
Why the Pixel by Pixel Studios website?
The Pixel by Pixel Studios website is the control center for the missions and lots of other information about the game.
On this page you can start your tasks (missions) by assigning suitable NFTs and get an overview of the status of these and how long the NFTs are locked for.
The tasks
You can choose the task that you like best from the tasks provided with the respective proceeds. You can run as many tasks simultaneously as you have “free” NFTs and slots. You normally have 3 slots available, but you can add a 4th for 1 week by paying 1000 PbP tokens (plus the Solana fee).
You can also change the type of tasks. You will also have to pay a small amount in PbP tokens (again plus the Solana fee).
For each task, you can see how long it locks the NFT and what revenue it generates. This and more details in the last part of the tour.
